Known Issues and Solutions for the Minecraft Education website
Over the past year, the Minecraft: Education Edition team has been redesigning our website to address the needs of our growing global community. We recently launched the new Minecraft Education website, which includes streamlined navigation, improved search, a comprehensive visual overhaul and a modernized technology stack to increase performance and stability. Along with new and improved functionality, this large of an update can unfortunately also introduce new issues.
Here is a list of the current known issues and workarounds if they are available. Our web team is hard at work to address these issues and we expect to see them fixed soon. If you find any other issues please open a support request and let us know!
Minecraft Certified Badges are not appearing on profile
Description: If you have completed the Minecraft: Education Edition Teacher Academy learning path on the Microsoft Educator Center (MEC) and you use the same email account to login to both the MEC and the Minecraft Education Community, your badges should be synced to the Minecraft Education Community site. If both of these conditions are true and you don't see your Minecraft certified badge, open a support request and we'll investigate.
Status: under investigation
Solution: No workarounds at this time
Minecraft: Education Edition app showing as unverified
Description: The first time a user logs into the website, they see a Permissions Verification message, which describes Minecraft: Education Edition as "unverified." IT Admins may see network traffic from this app as well.
Status: certification in progress
Solution: The app is safe to grant permissions to, and will soon show as verified to all users.
Using the same email address for your work/school (O365) and personal (MSA) accounts can create issues logging into the site
Description: If you have used your work or school email address (Office 365) to set up a personal Microsoft Account, this can cause confusion when you log into the website for the first time. The profile system may default to your personal account. In some cases, you will be asked to create a new profile, and you won't be able to access your old profile, which you created with your school or work account.
Status: under investigation
Solution: If you are having this issue, please open a support request and we'll add your profile to the investigation.
If your device is set to the "ZH-HANS" locale, none of the website pages display
Description: Users in the "ZH-HANS" locale will see the error
"WE’RE SSSSSSSORRY
We can’t find the page you’re looking for."
Status: under investigation
Solution: Replace “zh-hans” in any page URL with “zh-cn”
For example: Replace https://education.minecraft.net/zh-hans/resources/explore-lessons with https://education.minecraft.net/zh-cn/resources/explore-lessons
