Purchase Academic Licenses Directly from Microsoft Store for Education
Educators from a qualified academic institution can purchase academic licenses of Minecraft: Education Edition. To purchase licenses, you need to have an Office 365 Education account. If you do not have an Office 365 Education account, you can set one up for free. This article provides information on how to:

The Microsoft Store for Education is where you purchase and manage licenses
Your Office 365 Education account gives you access to the Microsoft Store for Education. This is where you purchase licenses and manage the users that will access Minecraft: Education Edition. It is free to set up an account and does not obligate you to any subscriptions or purchases unless you specifically authorize them.
Check if you have an Office 365 Education account
Follow these steps to check if you are part of an eligible educational institution and have an Office 365 Educational account.
- Navigate to the Office 365 Education page.
- Enter your school email address and select Get Started.
Result: The Office 365 Education page notifies you if you have an Office 365 Education account, you are eligible for an account, or you are not eligible for an account.

Purchase licenses
Follow these steps to purchase Minecraft: Education Edition licenses directly from the Microsoft Store for Education.
- Sign into Microsoft Store for Education with your Office 365 Education account credentials.
- Navigate to the Minecraft: Education Edition product page.
- Select the number of licenses.
- Click Buy.
Note: Administrators can restrict the ability of teachers to purchase applications in the Microsoft Store for Education. If you do not have the ability to Buy, contact your school administration or IT administrator. Also, ensure the settings: "Allow Users to Shop" and "Show Offline Apps" is toggled on.
